From the application process to a career in a law firm:
At the ELSA After-Work event on 11 December 2025, we joined forces with ELSA Innsbruck to take a closer look at the recruitment process in law firms. Twelve students from the University of Innsbruck benefited from insights and tips from four different GPK perspectives:
Our partners Barbara Egger-Russe and Andrea Pegger, trainee lawyer Sophie Gratl, and our legal assistant Philipp Bammer were happy to answer questions from the future “job applicants”. They shared insights into their personal career paths – but above all into recruitment practices and the assessment of applicant profiles.
From typical application mistakes and requirements for CVs and cover letters to tips for successful interviews, our guests received a “comprehensive package” to kick-start their careers in a law firm.
Whether networking, soft skills or professional preparation: The discussion made it clear that joining a law firm requires more than just sound legal knowledge – commitment, personality and professionalism count just as much.
