Moot Court Environmental Law 2022 – Victory in the Final for the Innsbruck Team!

The most amazing reward after a demanding but very exciting time:

The student team of the Leopold Franzens University of Innsbruck won the Moot Court Environmental Law 2022!

On 21 June 2022, the final event including the award ceremony and a look behind the scenes of Austrian Power Grid (APG), which was the focus of the project this year, took place in Vienna.

Congratulations to “our” team of 6 – Jasmin Düringer, Johanna Erler, Eric Maximilian Eschrich, Felix Alexander Jöchl, Bernardo Mayor Marinkovic and Maximilian Pfluger – supervised by Univ. Prof. Dr. Arno Kahl (Institute for Public Law, Political and Administrative Science) on this great success!

Our lawyers Barbara Egger-Russe and Laura Neururer have supported the Innsbruck students since April 2022, throughout the various phases of the approval procedure for the 380 kV Salzburg line dealt with in the MCEL, and have assisted them alongside the University of Innsbruck. It is all the nicer when “one’s own” team – in the role of the siting municipality – emerges as the winner of the competition between universities throughout Austria.

We would also like to congratulate all the other participating students on their achievement.

We would also like to thank our colleagues from NHP Attorneys at Law with project initiator Peter Sander for organising the event, as well as all those involved, whose commitment once again made the MCEL possible and always makes it a real highlight (not only for the students). We are already looking forward to next year!
