Moot Court Civil Law 2023/2024 – GPK Accompanies Innsbruck Students to Victory

1. Place at the Civil Law Moot Court!

GPK Pegger Kofler & Partners congratulates students Nadine Hagen, Michaela Goller and Matteo Auer from the Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck on their excellent ranking and outstanding performance in the practice-orientated course format of a simulated court hearing.

At yesterday’s final hearing in the jury courtroom of the Innsbruck Regional Court, the winning team was able to convince the panel of judges – consisting of HR Hon. Prof. Dr Christoph Brenn (Supreme Court Judge), Prof. Dr Alexander Schopper (Head of the Institute for Corporate and Tax Law) and Dr Manfred Bachmann (Vice President of the Tyrolean Bar Association) – with their arguments and presentation and, as one of six participating university teams, won the final.

Our legal specialist attorneys Barbara Egger-Russe and Andrea Pegger, associate Jana Schroll and University Assistant Christina Nagele supervised the team in their role as appellants, who dealt with the effects of the estate planning of a wealthy family head in their randomly assigned case.

Congratulations also to all the other participating students who took up the challenge with great commitment and made use of this special opportunity for their legal careers – our applause is also for you!

We would also like to thank the academic support of the Institute of Civil Law under the direction of Professor Dr Simon Laimer, Assistant Professor Dr Kristin Nemeth and Professor Dr Martin Trenker as well as our colleagues and all the dedicated contributors who made this now traditional university event possible – see also https://www.uibk.ac.at/rewi/moot-court-zivilrecht/ for more information.
