We’re celebrating our anniversary “125 Years as a Law Firm”!
On 6 October 2022, we had the pleasure of celebrating this special anniversary with around 300 guests from the worlds of politics, business, education and culture at the AC Marriott Hotel Innsbruck.
Our senior partner Ivo Greiter, grandson of the founder of the law firm, Josef Greiter, opened the evening and gave the audience a brief review of some of the most important (historical) events since the founding of our law firm in 1897. Welcoming words were spoken by Dr Birgit Streif, lawyer and President of the Tyrolean Bar Association.
We had the honour of welcoming the former Austrian Federal Chancellor, Dr Brigitte Bierlein, as a special guest and highlight of the anniversary evening. With her lecture “From Law to Politics”, she provided very interesting and humorous insights into her appointment as Austria’s first female Federal Chancellor – to date, no other woman had been appointed to this top position.
“Actually, I was at the end of my career at the time. It was a big surprise for me when Federal President van der Bellen called me and asked. One of the reasons why I accepted? I thought to myself, when is the next time a woman will be asked?” What is her advice to young people? “Seize opportunities that present themselves and have the courage to take on responsibility!”
The subsequent open round of discussions, with many questions from the audience, was chaired by our youngest partners Andrea Pegger and Laura Neururer-Blum, who concluded by giving an exciting preview of the next years.
