Greiter Pegger Kofler & Partners is the only law firm in Austria to be a member of the “Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance” (GALA), which held its annual Global Meeting in London from 12 to 15 October 2022. For the first time in almost three years, the meeting brought together around 100 members from all over the world. Our partner Stefan Kofler represented our firm at the meeting and used the time for professional and collegial discussions on new developments and current influences in advertising and marketing law.
The three-day conference focused on the topic ” Global Advertising in an Age of Crisis and Change” and included, for example, ever-present as well as explosive aspects of the Corona pandemic and climate change. Intensive panel discussions and presentations, including guest speaker Guy Parker (Chief Executive of the UK Advertising Standards Authority), addressed, for example, the impact of the pandemic on the marketing sector. In one of the numerous discussion rounds, the following concrete question was also discussed in depth: How do brands, agencies and regulators react to the challenge of promoting new green technologies without lapsing into “greenwashing”?
The talks did not only focus on the professional discussions, but also on the 20th anniversary of GALA, which was also celebrated by experts and colleagues of the industry in London.
