Doing Business in Austria 2021

Franz Pegger, Barbara Egger-Russe and Silvia Moser provided the required data for Innsbruck for The World Bank’s publication “Doing Business in the European Union 2021: Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands”.

The publication evaluates the regulatory environment for business and its impact on local entrepreneurs in seven cities in Austria (Bregenz, Graz, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Linz, Salzburg and Vienna), seven cities in Belgium (Antwerp, Bruges, Brussels, Charleroi, Ghent, Liège and Namur) and ten cities in the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Arnhem, Eindhoven, Enschede, Groningen, The Hague, Maastricht, Middelburg, Rotterdam and Utrecht). The study evaluates regulations relevant to five phases of a small to medium-sized domestic business: Starting a business, obtaining building permits, power supply, real estate transactions and enforcing contracts. In each of these areas, the study highlights good practices that can be used to strengthen local entrepreneurs and firms.
