On 30.07.2015 the Amending Law 2015 to the Law of Succession was publicized.
The amendment not only provides an urgently required update of the language used in the inheritance provisions of the Austrian Civil Code, it is in fact also a fundamental reform of substantive succession law.
The changes to the legislative framework open new possibilities for inheritance planning and should prompt reassessing and possibly optimising existing succession arrangements.
