Civil Law Moot Court Final – a Strong Case for Young Legal Talent!

After weeks of preparation, intensive case analysis and practical process training, the time had come: the final hearing in the courtroom of the Higher Regional Court of Innsbruck provided the participating students with a worthy stage to demonstrate the knowledge they had acquired as legal representatives before the renowned panel of judges, consisting of HR Hon.-Prof. Dr. Christoph Brenn (Supreme Court judge), Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Alexander Schopper (Head of the Institute for Corporate and Tax Law) and Dr Manfred Bachmann (Vice President of the Tyrolean Bar Association).

Students Anja Hofer, Timo Sequeira Taxer and Lukas Tinzl, coached by our law firm, took on the role of the opposing party in a tricky copyright case. Even though they didn’t win first place, all of the young lawyers emerged from this demanding competition as winners. So, a big round of applause to our team! You can be proud of yourselves!

Our ‘coaches’ and legal experts, Barbara Egger-Russe (attorney), Andrea Pegger (attorney), Sophie Gratl (attorney) and Laura Deiser (assistant professor) were very happy to take on the professional supervision of young talents on their way into legal practice.

Congratulations to all participants and to the winning team for their impressive achievements!

And above all: a big thank you to the organisers at the Faculty of Law – University of Innsbruck – Institute for Civil Law, in particular to Univ.-Prof. Dr. Simon Laimer, Ass.-Prof. Dr. Kristin Nemeth and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Andreas Vonkilch, for their academic support and their constant commitment to making the Moot Court series a valuable teaching format.
