CIPP/E certification is awarded by the IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals, http://iapp.org) and requires the completion of an ANSI/ISO accredited examination on European data protection law.
According to the IAPP, CIPP is the worldwide industry standard for professionals working in the field of data protection. Achieving CIPP/E certification demonstrates an understanding of a principles-based framework and knowledge base for data protection in the European context, including critical issues such as the EU-U.S. Data Protection Shield and GDPR.
