The countdown is on! On May 28th 2018 the EU General Data Protection Regulation will come into force.\u00a0It entails extensive new obligations for enterprises.<\/p>\n

The responsibility for data protection is placed entirely in the hands of enterprises. Registration in the Data Processing Register will no longer be required.<\/p>\n

How can businesses prepare for the new requirements properly and what do they have to do?<\/p>\n

In a seminar held by our law firm on June 8, 2017, lawyer\u00a0Dr. Georg Huber <\/em>provided insight into the upcoming changes in data protection and illustrated what enterprises have to expect.<\/p>\n

All\u00a0data processors\u00a0will be subject to detailed accountability, transparency and information duties and will have to introduce internal procedures to guarantee that data is only processed rightfully. Enterprises shall\u00a0have to implement technical and organisational measures\u00a0 to guarantee data security and that data is processed in accordance with the GDPR. They will also have to keep a record of all data processing.<\/p>\n

We were happy to greet over 180 guests at our seminar in the WIFI Innsbruck’s new seminar rooms.<\/p>\n

The high interest in this subject was shown by the large number of questions and comments made by\u00a0listeners after the presentation.<\/p>\n

After the seminar the law firm invited all\u00a0guests to a buffet,\u00a0giving them the opportunity to\u00a0exchange ideas and views on the matter.<\/p>\n
