Melanie Gassler-Tischlinger. LL.M.<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Dr. Herwig Frei<\/em>, both specialised in labour law, presented actual individual cases.<\/p>\n<p>For example, an employer isn\u2019t &#8211; or generally isn&#8217;t &#8211; allowed to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>frisk\u00a0employees or search their bags or handbags because they may have stolen something<\/li>\n<li>ask\u00a0employees to open the boot of their cars<\/li>\n<li>film employees secretly, i.e. without them being aware of it<\/li>\n<li>film employees permanently<\/li>\n<li>have employees observed by detectives without specific grounds<\/li>\n<li>fit one way glass panes (which can only been seen through from one side) so that employees can be observed<\/li>\n<li>install access control systems without the consent of the\u00a0workers\u2019 council which always show exactly where an employee is at work<\/li>\n<li>consistently record and check which employees have surfed which sites on the internet<\/li>\n<li>read employees\u2019 personal emails<\/li>\n<li>listen to, record or intercept employees\u2019 personal or work phone calls<\/li>\n<li>check on employees by calling on them at home<\/li>\n<li>tell an employee to take an alcohol test<\/li>\n<li>fit video surveillance as protection against theft or for security reasons without the consent of the\u00a0workers\u2019 council<\/li>\n<li>install biometric time recording systems such as fingerprint scanners without the consent of the workers\u2019 council<\/li>\n<li>systematically and comprehensively monitor employees on sick leave through other employees or detectives without the consent of the\u00a0workers\u2019 council<\/li>\n<li>install positioning software on field staff\u2019s work cell phone without the consent of the workers\u2019 council, so that they can be located at all times<\/li>\n<li>install software to for the total monitoring or an employees\u2019 computer<\/li>\n<li>install video cameras in toilets, changing rooms or washrooms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The presentation was very well attended and numerous employers, labour representatives and legal practitioners filled the Grand Hotel Europa\u2019s Baroque Hall.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lawfirm.at\/app\/uploads\/Foto.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1640\" src=\"https:\/\/lawfirm.at\/app\/uploads\/Foto-300x195.jpg\" alt=\"Foto\" width=\"300\" height=\"195\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lawfirm.at\/app\/uploads\/Foto-300x195.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lawfirm.at\/app\/uploads\/Foto-1024x665.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nDr. Ivo Greiter, Dr. Paul Meier (President of the Princely Court Liechtenstein),\u00a0Dr. Oswald Mayr, Dr. Herwig Frei and Mag.
